Team Owner James Manning started Karting at the age of 6 and went on to compete for many years in the British Championships throughout the UK and Europe.

Over a period of 6 years, James competed in over a thousand races gaining invaluable experience. He went on to gain his ARDS Race Licence at 14 and competed in the Ford Fiesta Junior Championship for a season before leaving motorsport to finish his studies. With motorsport being such a large part of his life it wasn’t long before the inevitable return to racing when he joined Stratton Motorsport to train as a race mechanic. While at Stratton he was a member of the team for two seasons in British GT, working on Lotus GT4’s owned by Ultratek Racing. Between British GT rounds, James and the team also ran several Aston Martin GT4’s in the AMOC series.

In James’ final season with the team, they took part once again in the AMOC Series with James progressing to the No.1 mechanic on one of the Aston’s. During this season James and the team also took part in several individual races including the Creventic 24hr of Barcelona, GT Cup and Britcar Endurance Series. During James’ time at Stratton, his responsibilities included, ordering parts, race car builds, trackside support, race weekend logistics including flight and hotel bookings, data acquisition, software management and fuel and tyre requirements.

All of this experience has enabled James to pursue his passion to the next level with the formation of his very own Raceteam, Mannpower Motorsport.
